Breaking the Silence

I'm sorry it's been so long since I've posted but this last month has been incredibly busy so some things had to take a back seat for a little while and blogging was one of them.

It's the last day of 2007 and I'm sitting here thinking over what has happened this year and like every year it's had it's ups and downs but God has been very good to us in all of it. I started this blog this last year and called it Inspire because we need to be inspired by God and then inspire those around us (we talked about that at length here). I'm not sure if I've been all that inspiring this year but one thing I am absolutely certain of is that God has been inspiring this year. He has opened my eyes up to see so much more of Him this year and to truly enjoy Him so much more.

I have so much to praise God for this year. In fact, Kirsten and I are able to go away for a short break during this week and that is a real blessing. I received some unexpected days off from work and in an unexpected order which gives me three days off. This was a work of God and allows Kirsten and I to get away and have some down time after a very busy month. We also were blessed with a new nephew this year and are looking forward to another niece/nephew next year.

As most of you know I love to read Christian biographies and I've read a few this year. I've been sharing some short biographical videos being produced by another church about the lives of some of the great Christian song writers. I'll leave you today by recommending you watch this latest installment about Fanny Crosby. You can find the video here.

I hope you have a happy new year and may I suggest that some time over the next few days you consider the blessings God has shown you over the last year and give Him praise for them. After all He is worthy of praise!

Until next year,
Pastor Brian
